Why are razor blades so thin? In addition to being very tough, it is also extremely sharp. How is it made? What material was used?
The razor blades are made from stainless steel coil, which is only 0.1mm thick. It is cut into the shape of a blade that is connected together under the rolling cutter. At this time, the stainless steel is very soft, and it will deform when it is folded lightly, so heat treatment is required next. After heating the blade in a furnace at 1100°C for 30 seconds, take it out and soak it in cold water, and then put the blade in a low temperature box of minus 50°C for 20 seconds.
In this process, the steel molecules will be disrupted and recombined, and the material will become hard and brittle at the same time, and it will break as soon as it is broken. This requires reheating the blade for an additional 20 seconds to restore flexibility. After printing the brand and model of the blade with a printing press, the blade can be edged and polished.
The blade blank enters the grinding and polishing machine, which first grinds the two sides of the blade to make a sharp edge, and then polishes and removes the rough part on the blade. When it comes out, it's a razor that's cut into pieces. Then the laboratory needs to conduct sampling inspection of the blades, and confirm the quality of the batch of blades according to various technical indicators. Blades are then manually inspected for flaws, and blades that are confirmed to be correct are sent for solvent cleaning.
After drying, vacuum coating is applied, and the chrome coating can make the blade stronger and more durable. After spraying with a release coating and then baking at 350°C for 20 minutes, these coatings can stay on the blade surface forever. When you shave, it becomes extremely smooth.
Take a blade and put it on the machine and cut the bottom layer of wet paper vigorously. Based on the force applied to the depth of cut, determine if the blade meets the strength requirements. Then put the blade that meets the standard in organic oil and soak it for half an hour to enhance the corrosion resistance of the blade. Then enter the packaging line, and after the machine wraps the blades into wax paper one by one, they can be sold from the factory.
With the development of shavers, electric shavers have become a must-have for men. However, some people still use manual shavers. Which of the two is better to use?
Relatively speaking, a manual shaver will shave cleaner. Because of the blade mesh of the electric shaver, the contact between the blade head and the skin will have a certain distance, which protects the skin and cannot be as clean as a manual shaver. The second is the cleaning of the electric shaver, which will be more troublesome. If it is not cleaned frequently, it is easy to breed bacteria. However, the convenience and safety of electric shaving is also an important reason for becoming the first choice.
